I have been known to have some normal and some not-so-normal fixations.
I listen to music for on an average 4 hrs a day, which amounts to 1/4th of my day (if you count out sleep) and differentiates me from the generic "I like Music" category of people. Its my preferred way of starting the day and ending it. I like many genres, ranging from alternative to trance to 80's rock. Arguably, my favorite band is Coldplay. Its another story that I can't play any instrument properly, apart from air guitar and my imaginary drum-set, and my singing leaves a lot to be desired. But its my goal to master guitar, flute and if possible, violin before I turn 40.
This one is a newly acquired fetish. Apparently I am pretty good at it. I normally prefer to click people, instead of landscapes and sunsets. But unlike them, not every person is willing to be photographed by a complete stranger. And this has always caused me to be eyed with suspicion. You can check out a few samples in the Gallery.
My love for Comics is preceded only by my love for
music. Apart from being damn funny, they help me to keep the child in
me alive. Among my favorites are Calvin & Hobbes and Dilbert. I
also like the action ones by DC and Marvel, especially Batman and Xmen
and Alan Moore's creations.
One essential part of being a child is to have a hero. Mine is
Spiderman. I used to love his cartoons that appeared on Fox. Looking
back, I think I was lucky to be a Spiderman fan, when I made numerous
attempts of just flinging myself against a wall to see if I can stick
to it, unlike the Superman freaks, who jumped from balconies with arms
in air, and later on, legs in cast.
l am slowly evolving into a voracious reader, tending to gobble everything I can get my hands on. Here is a list of books I read and what I think about them, starting from 2008 in a chronological order -   Books I've Read
"There are some things you can only write about..."
For sadists who take pleasure in peeking into others's lives. And other people ofcourse !
A house fly is known to be the one of the most irritating things in the world. To me it is one of the most fascinating (and irritating, of course!) creations of nature. An image processing system, a really advanced olfactory system, a robust & efficient aerial locomotive system and much more, all of it packed into less than 5mm x 5mm x 5mm. Building such a system is my one of my dreams in life...
My areas of interests are mainly analog & mixed-signal VLSI and their applications in neuromorphic and biomedical systems, computation, communication and other relevant fields. I am currently working on a cardiac sense amplifier front end of a pacemaker. This work is a part of a larger project called "BioSens". For more details, refer to - BioSens
